Breast Cancer is a complex illness, as diverse as the people who face it. Eating well plays an important role in recovery and staying well. Educate yourself and share the knowledge with others. Here are a few tips from the America Cancer Society and a few recipes from The Kroger Co. Family of Stores.

Tip #1

Healthy Choices

Stay away from tobacco and limit yourself to no more than 1 alcoholic drink per day.

Tip #2

Staying Well

Maintain a healthy weight, and eat healthy with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Tip #3

Report Any Changes

Become familiar with how your breasts normally look. If you think you have found a lump or change, see your doctor.

Tip #4

Family History

If you are at increased risk due to a family or personal history, talk to your doctor about your history.

Tip #5

Annual Testing

Schedule a yearly mammogram starting at age 40 and continue as long as you are in good health.

Tip #6

Early Detection

Schedule a breast exam every year by your doctor if you are age 40 or older and every three years if you are in your 20s or 30s.
