My name is Jane doe. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2006. I hope to encourage others and let them know that they can survive this just like I did.

Please, please get checked. Start early. Be consistent. I was 51 before I had my first mammogram. Even if you have no family history of the disease (I didn’t), you’ve got to follow through. If you can find the cancer early, it’s a very survivable thing.

My issues was that I missed my mammogram just one year.

Reach out to your loved-ones and stay positive. The people who helped me through this were my friends and DEFINITELY my husband, Peter – my rock. I found support groups and learned so much from my “girlfriends” who have gone through this too.

Look at every day as a gift. Live it fully. That’s my advice, cancer or not.

Live every day and stay positive!
